Important Information about ECU Unlock Tuner & Tuning
The ECU Unlock Tool prepares the factory ECU for the custom tuning required with this delete kit for 2.8 Duramax. The tuning process uses the vehicle’s original stock file and vehicle-specific data to create the correct calibration. The tool also supports diagnostic and monitoring functions that help verify engine operation during the tuning process. Proper ECU preparation is required before the emissions equipment is removed.

Tuning Requirements
The ECU must be prepared and tuned using the included ECU Unlock Tool and the required tuning software. A Windows laptop is required for the tuning process; a smartphone cannot be used. The laptop is necessary to retrieve the required vehicle information and factory stock file and to install the custom tuning file onto the ECU.
Installation Notes
Installation can be completed with basic mechanical skills and standard tools by following the supplied instructions. Installation time may vary slightly depending on the condition of the factory hardware and individual vehicle setup.
If you do not have experience working with diesel exhaust and emissions components, we recommend having the kit installed by a diesel or performance shop. For an experienced shop, installation of this type of complete delete package is a standard procedure.
