- Ford Powerstroke (2003-2010) Custom Tunes + Tuner: Elevate your older generation Powerstroke with a precision-crafted tuning package, delivering a tuner pre-loaded with custom tunes to boost your truck’s performance straight out of the box.
Please be aware that the tuner is shipped from the manufacturer and arrives without any pre-loaded settings. Should you need custom tuning, please email us your VIN and the SN (Serial Number) of device, which can be found on the bottom of the box, as soon as you receive your unit. We typically require one business day to prepare and send you the Custom Tune File, specifically designed for your Ford Powerstroke.
Understanding Your Options:
Pre-Loaded vs. Blank Tuners: Our pre-loaded tuners for the 2003-2019 Ford Powerstroke are equipped with customized tunes specifically designed to boost performance based on the model year of your truck. For models from 2011-2019, an added SOTF (Shift-On-The-Fly) switch provides the convenience of real-time tuning adjustments, enhancing flexibility for various driving conditions. Conversely, blank tuners serve as a blank canvas, ideal for those who prefer to implement their own custom-developed tunes. This option offers complete control, allowing for a highly personalized tuning experience.
Choose Custom Tunes: Custom tunes are meticulously crafted to optimize the unique characteristics of your Powerstroke engine, considering critical factors such as fuel delivery, turbo pressure, and exhaust flow. This precise tuning not only maximizes engine performance but also improves fuel efficiency and increases horsepower and torque outputs, ensuring your vehicle operates at its peak potential.
Eliminate the following components (if present) without setting fault codes or checking the check engine light:
- Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
- Catalytic converter (CAT)
- Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)
- Selective catalytic reduction (SCR)
- Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)
- Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
Diagnostic Trouble Codes / Check Engine Light – The SCT X4 / Bully Dog BDX prevents DTCs or Check Engine Light from occurring. However, if any other problem occurs, you will still be warned. DTCs can be checked and cleared.
Fuel Mileage – Expect a significant improvement in fuel economy. If your DPF is clogged, you will likely average 13-14 mpg. More or less, depending on the severity of the restriction. After installing the SCT X4 / Bully Dog BDX and removing the DPF/CAT, you can expect a combined fuel economy of 18-19 mpg. Larger tires and poor driving habits will skew the mileage downward.
